2 meter home brew vertical

Here's the antenna

This is the top section

Top wire 38 and ½ inches to coil

 

Coil is 13 turns of 20 gauge wire  wound on ½ inch dowel

 

38 and 1/22 inch wire out of bottom of dowel

 

then connect this 300 ohm to the bottom of the top section

16 and 11/16 total length flat twin lead

1.5 inches up from bottom connect feed coax

short the bottom of twin lead


 

 

 


insert this all inside of a

pvc pipe

 

 

 

to match shorten both 38 and ½ inch pieces a ¼  inch at a time

 

you can increase gain by doing a second top section and adding it to the top but antenna gets rather long

 

last but not least use a 2 inch piece of copper on top soldered on in a “T” configuration for a capacitance hat
